Packing (Juliette’s story)
Since this is the inaugural entry to the Burning Man website, I thought I’d better add a few words.
The van is indeed stuffed to the hilt with our gear. If I didn’t know that the Burning Man web site pre-existed our plans to travel to the festival, I would genuinely believe that this was all an elaborate joke. How many people do you know pack their clothes in ziplock bags before embarking on their annual vacation, or who will require an ‘evaporation tray’ in order to dispose of their grey water once there? Not many, I’ll bet. That said, I am really excited about going and cannot wait until 4pm tomorrow when I can hot shoe out of work and leap into the Prouse Waggon for it’s first real road trip.
We have no doubt packed way too much food (10 cans of tuna is probably over kill, but you never know), and forgotten other things that every seasoned desert dweller would rather die than be without, but who cares, we won’t be at work, we will be together and the sun will be shining…..
Feel free to e-mail us whilst we are there, and check back here to see what life with a bunch of professional freaks looks like.
Love
Jx
