What is it?
Last night over coctails we tried to define the experience of Burning Man. To those who have not experienced it they cannot know it. It is about creating art and being art, seeing and being seen, expression and dissolution of social boundaries. Not matter what you say about Burning Man it is correct because Burning Man is everything. Everything you say will also be wrong because it cannot be explained within normal social contexts. It is Mad Max meets Alice in Wonderland. It is a place where the rules of society no longer apply and you are able to express your true self. The harshness of the desert and the vastness of the Playa force a shift of consciousness and makes you re-evaluate everything.
Burning man cannot be explained, it must be experienced.
How can you explain a tequila bar inside a huge blue shark that drives around the desert with a belly full of dancing free people. A black truck races across the Playa with a machine gun firing off the back and flame throwers setting the desert around it on fire. The beat of drums and the fire dancers echos from the mountains until sunrise. Life as art and soon it will burn…
