Thanks for the info. I think that it confirms that even though it is possible to lose 30 lbs of weight, that is not real weight loss. What people really want to lose is 30 lbs of fat.

I think that the cycle is caused by the fact that most of these diets make you to lose weight that is not fat and quickly regained. Also, these losses are limited. You only have so much water and bowel content to lose.

The 30lbs. in 30 days for $30.00 is usually the cost to join the "company", then there is usually an "*" that says it does not include the price of food (usually provided by the weight loss company, which means it's expensive) sometimes the food is provided by you, but they sell pills on top of the 30.00 which are also expensive.

I went to a weight loss place this year to lose the weight I gained from sitting on my butt from my foot, that sells herbal supplements. I lost 7 lbs. in a week and lost another 7lbs. in another couple of weeks. They give you: a) fibre pill (flushes out your bowels..a lot of people who are over weight store crap in their bowels, so that first month it is easy to loose weight that way), b) appetite suppressor (helps to hold off cravings and also "heats up" the stomach [supposedly] to help digest), c) omega 3 pill and ginsing - helps with your energy levels etc. [supposedly, actually I really did have a lot more energy on this combo]), d) drink LOTS of water and cut out salt (most overweight people eat a lot of salt and don't drink enough water, therefore they retain water, when you go off the salt, your body flushes the water through therefore losing weight) All and all, most people gain it back..I have not because I am active and know what to eat, most people end up failing because they don't change their lifestyles. It's all a cruel cycle for most, but the $30.00, 30lbs., in 30 days always has hidden costs, but it IS possible to lose 30 lbs in a month when you have a lot to lose, it's the last bit these companies get you with.
