Corn

We left Burlington at about 6:30 pm yesterday and crossed the border at Sarnia. By 3:30 am we were nearly at Chicago and could go no farther, so we pulled into a car pool parking lot and crawled into bed for a few hours of sleep. The sound of passing trucks got us back on the road again just after six with two large cups of coffee.

With 4000 km to go we need to drive long days to make it before the man burns. We have been swapping off between driving and sleeping in the back and now 17 hours later we are still lost in the corn fields of Nebraska. We are finally nearly across and are watching lightning storms over the mountains of Wyoming and listening to the CBC’s Vinyl Cafe on CDs and laughing so much that neither of us can sleep. Maybe we will make it to the Rockies before we stop for the night.
