Juliette’s away in Africa again, so I find myself going a bit stir crazy. The look of the site has been annoying me for awhile now, so, as a part of a general server overhaul, I decided to give it a makeover. It isn’t done yet, but I like the cleaner design and I think it is a bit easier to read. Now, if only I posted more, then you would have reasons to visit and actually read the posts.

I was also getting around two hundred spam emails a day and in the mass deletions, I was loosing real emails. So I finally got down to it and installed a new mail server, set up anti-spam and anti-virus scanners on the server so that none of that crap gets into my mail box. Since Friday, the server has bounced 880 emails before they were even looked at, then identified and deleted another 775 spam messages. That is a whole lot of email that is no longer clogging our inboxes.

I have also installed a secure, authenticated mail server for sending emails, so I will now be able to respond to emails when I get them rather than wait until I get home. It was always a bit of a pain sending prouse.org emails from work, but now it will be easy, so I should be able to respond to more emails. I also reworked Juliette’s personal blog a bit to make the post area wider and easier to read. Juliette has been doing a great job of posting to her blog, putting me to shame. It is always an interesting read if you haven’t been there in awhile.
